Dr. Rauf has received certification from the Chi Institute (http://www.tcvm.com/) and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist

  • This is the culmination of hundreds of hours of study, classroom instruction, hands-on labs, a 30 hour internship with an experienced acupuncturist, and a detailed case study.
  • She is now utilizing her skills and knowledge of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through acupuncture and Chinese herbals.

Dr. Gaston and Dr. Rauf are committed to professional continuing education and attend local, state, and national continuing education meetings every year. Recent continuing education:

Dr. Rauf attended the North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando, Florida in January. The NAVC is one of the largest veterinary education meetings in the country and features some of the most respected names in veterinary education from around the world. (http://navc.com/conference/) Dr. Rauf has traveled to Florida each of the last 12 years to attend this outstanding educational meeting.

Dr. Gaston attended the NAVC in 2015. Dr. Gaston’s good friend and Standard Process Veterinary Formula originator, Dr. Ron Carsten, also attended the meeting. Dr. Gaston and Dr. Carsten enjoyed the opportunity to share information and fellowship during the conference.

Dr. Gaston will be attending the Midwest Veterinary Conference in Columbus, Ohio again this year in February. (Plans for attendance last year were ruined by a snow storm and a knee injury which occurred during the snow storm.)

Dr. Gaston attended a local meeting in January sponsored by MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets on the subject of alternative/complementary therapies.

Dr. Rauf traveled to Florida in November 2015 for the 17th Annual International TCVM Conference where she received 44 hours of instruction.

Dr. Gaston attended the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Forum in 2014 in Nashville and 2015 in Indianapolis. The Forum is the continuing education conference for veterinary internal medicine specialists providing state of the art medical information. (http://www.acvim.org/ACVIM-Forum/About-ACVIM-Forum) Dr. Gaston is planning to attend the 2016 Forum in Denver in June this year.

In 2013 and 2014, Dr. Gaston attended 5 modules of the Advanced Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy and Applied Neurology with Clinical Applications in Neurology course at the Healing Oasis Wellness Center (http://healingoasis.edu//). Each module contains 20 hours of instruction and hands-on lab. The training involves advanced adjusting techniques and an in-depth study of neurology.

Emily’s dog Molly has won several ribbons each year at Ultimate Air Dogs events in 2013, 2014, and 2015. She had her longest jumps at the end of the 2015 season at the Midwest Regional event in Imlay City, Michigan where she twice jumped 24’ 5”! The clinic remodeling project is on-going.

The second examination room was completely remodeled and the new lift table installed in March 2014.

In order to improve his knowledge and skill in one his favorite hobbies, Dr. Gaston attended two days of lecture and demonstration at the Woodworking Show in Indianapolis in January, and attended Wood Magazine’s “Weekend with Wood” in Des Moines Iowa in May 2015.
