DVM, CVSMT
Dr. Gaston is the owner of Veterinary Wellness Center and has been practicing veterinary medicine for almost 40 years. He blends traditional Western medicine with complementary therapies — the goal being not to reject modern tools, but to use them with discernment and to restore balance rather than simply suppress symptoms.
Dr. Gaston received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Ohio State University in 1987. After almost 11 years in various roles as an employee and contractor, he purchased a small practice in Harrison, Ohio, in March 1998. He renamed the practice to Veterinary Wellness Center to reflect his vision for integrative care and utilizing the principles of functional medicine for pets. Since then, he obtained certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (animal ‘chiropractic’) in 2001 and completed training in veterinary acupuncture in 2004.
Today, after 39 years in practice, Dr. Gaston enjoys daily practice, interacting with his patients and the terrific clients who are committed to their pets.
Dr. Gaston has been married to his wife Janet since 1986. She has been his partner and biggest supporter through it all. They have four grown children and, currently, one granddaughter.
Outside of the office, Dr. Gaston enjoys ballroom dance lessons with Janet, working outside on his small farm, and creating unique items in his woodworking shop.
